Bring phonemic awareness and phonics instruction to life with the Sound It Out! Flipbook – a practical classroom resource designed to help children see, hear and understand how different speech sounds are formed.

Each sound features a large, clear photograph of the mouth for children to observe, while the teacher-facing information explains exactly how the sound is produced. Teachers can explore the position of the tongue, lips and jaw, whether the sound is continuous or a stop sound, and whether the voice box is on or off.

The flipbook can be used during phonemic awareness instruction or alongside your existing phonics programme when introducing new letter-sound correspondences. It does not follow one particular phonics sequence, making it flexible enough to complement the programme already being used in your classroom.
